The Competition

We have been accepted to compete in SpaceX’s Hyperloop Competition in the summer of 2018. If there was an Olympics for Engineering and Innovation, this is it! We’ve come through multiple rounds to reach this point, now we want to prove ourselves and win it!

Irish Representation

We hope to show the world that Ireland is among the leaders in innovation, engineering and technology.

Feat of Engineering

In order to accelerate the development of functional prototypes and encourage student innovation, SpaceX announced the Hyperloop Pod Competition in 2015.

Only 5 other European Countries

One of 6 European countries including Scotland, Germany, Switzerland, Netherlands and Spain to make the final cut.

What is the Hyperloop concept?

The Hyperloop is a mode of transport that will completely change the way we travel in the near future. It is a proposed mode of passenger and/or freight transportation, first used to describe an open-source vactrain design released by a joint team from Tesla and SpaceX. The concept's inception brings us back as far as 2012, when Elon Musk first publicly mentioned the concept as a "fifth mode of transport". Hyperloop will allow for transportation at nearly the speed of sound. At a top speed of 1260km/h, passengers will be able to travel from Dublin to Galway city in only 11 minutes!
